June

June is promising to be Super as well! Please note that I haven’t seen previews of all the movies coming but this is purely based on the previews that I have seen so far.

June 6th:

Now You See Me
FBI agents track a team of illusionists who pull off bank heists during their performances and reward their audiences with the money.
I know, the magician movies have been getting a bit of a drag over the last couple of years but this one is different, a bit like The Prestige but the disappearing is actually a trick, just watch the trailer :). Awesome casting and hopefully a very entertaining flick.

Star Trek: Into Darkness 3D
After the crew of the Enterprise find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.
Shut up and take my money already, I love Star Trek, I love the movies they are based on and I am certain this one will be even more epic than the last one.

June 13th:

The Iceman
The true story of Richard Kuklinski, the notorious contract killer and family man.
Sounds very intriguing, a killer and family man but this time based on a real person. It reminds me a bit of Leon: The Professional, a contract killer with two sides.

Byzantium
Two mysterious women seek refuge in a run-down coastal resort. Clara meets lonely Noel, who provides shelter in his deserted guesthouse, Byzantium. Schoolgirl Eleanor befriends Frank and tells him their lethal secret. They were born 200 years ago and survive on human blood. As knowledge of their secret spreads, their past catches up on them with deathly consequence.
Lets stick a bit longer with Vampires they must have thought. Luckily not so cliche and well Gemma Arterton is one actress I always enjoy to see on the big screen.

Carrie
Carrie White is a lonely and awkward teen who is constantly bullied at school by her peers, and beaten at home at the hands of her religious mother. But Carrie has a secret: She’s been blessed with the terrifying power of telekinesis; and when her peers decide to pull a prank on her at prom, they’ll soon learn a deadly lesson: If you play with fire, you get burned.
Does Carrie need a remake I wondered when I first heard of the plans to remake it. However, when I heard Chloë Grace Moretz was going to play the leading role I already knew that they made an excellent choice and that the movie can only be great. (though not as originally scary as the first one)

June 20th:

Man of Steel
A child, sent to Earth from a dying planet, is adopted by a couple in rural Kansas. Posing as a journalist, he uses his extraordinary powers to protect his new home from an insidious evil.
A new superman movie, do we actually need it? Well this one is from Zack Snyder and he nows how to make spectacular movies so I give this one (once again) a chance.

June 27th:

After Earth
One thousand years after cataclysmic events forced humanity’s escape from Earth, Nova Prime has become mankind’s new home. Legendary General Cypher Raige returns from an extended tour of duty to his estranged family, ready to be a father to his 13-year-old son, Kitai. When an asteroid storm damages Cypher and Kitai’s craft, they crash-land on a now unfamiliar and dangerous Earth. As his father lies dying in the cockpit, Kitai must trek across the hostile terrain to recover their rescue beacon. His whole life, Kitai has wanted nothing more than to be a soldier like his father. Today, he gets his chance.
Will Smith in a movie together with his real son, it sounds like a bit of a done deal, that it is just a movie made for them to play together but I like the concept, wondering what will happen to them and what happened to Earth 1000 years ago (for them). Don’t have a full judgement yet of course besides that it looks interesting but I do hope they will release soon a new trailer with more footage.

Upside Down
A man searches an alternate universe for a long-lost love from his youth.
A Science fiction movie with one of my favorite actresses, Kirsten Dunst, I dont know what to expect of this movie though, will it be arthouse, will it be something commercial, I guess it is something for which we have to wait and see. Hope it will be released earlier.
